McMurdo Art

As my time on the ice grows rapidly to a close, let me share some pictures of a culture unique to McMurdo.

Orcas will visit soon to feed on the seals and penguins, once the ice breaks up.

This skier has plenty of "vertical," but ran out of snow.

Heat Trace keeps the pipes from freezing,
but you need bridges to cross them

On this bridge is a sun dial.  Note the relationship between geographical
north (black) and magnetic south (red)

Watch out though!  Under the bridge...

...lives a troll!
"Who's that tramping on my bridge!"
